In this post, I’m sharing my real experience, no filters, and paid entirely out of my own pocket. We stayed here in October 2025 and paid $314 per night, with no collaboration or sponsorship involved. If you’ve read other reviews on my blog, you know I’m not getting married any time soon. However, I’ve stayed at 14 different resorts in Punta Cana throughout 2025, ranging from the ultra-luxe to those that overpromise and underdeliver — compare it with the rest in my Punta Cana all-inclusive resorts guide. That’s why, when I booked the Meliá Punta Cana Beach Wellness Inclusive, I went in a bit skeptical: Is all that “wellness” marketing the real deal, or just an excuse to jack up the price?

The short answer is: It shut me right up. Especially in an area where Punta Cana often falls short, the dining and the friendliness. I’ll tell you about the breakfasts (I haven’t found another resort that beats them yet) and the peaceful gardens filled with ducks and peacocks. But I’ll also talk about the slip-ups during dinner service and those walks under the blazing sun that nobody warns you about.

If you’re looking for a tier-one resort to disconnect as a couple without paying absurd prices, keep reading. This hotel is in a completely different league from most of its party-hard neighbors.

What I fell in love with

• ✅ The Breakfast: Without a doubt, the best breakfast I’ve had in the entire Caribbean. Perfect Eggs Benedict, fresh smoothies made to order, and spinach crepes.
• ✅ General Gastronomy: Homemade wood-fired pizza, premium charcuterie, and a quality of raw ingredients you can taste in every bite.
• ✅ Rituals Amenities: In the bathroom, they provide Rituals brand products. A touch of quality far superior to the generic soaps found at other 5-star spots.
• ✅ The Setting: Gardens full of life, peacocks, ducks, and fish. It is a genuinely beautiful resort.

What needs improvement

• ❌ The Distances: The resort layout is very stretched out. Getting from reception to the beach is a long trek (or you have to wait for the little shuttle train).
• ❌ Dinner Service (Sometimes):: Even though the food is good, the à la carte service had some major slip-ups (slow service and ingredients forgotten on my plate).
• ❌ The Hairdryer: For a hotel in this category, the dryer is pretty basic/bad. If you have thick hair, bring your own.
• ❌ No Nightlife: If you’re looking for a wild party after dinner, you won’t find it here.

• Distance to the Airport (PUJ): It is about 20-30 minutes by car. It’s a quick and comfortable ride, which is a huge relief after a long international flight.
• The Surroundings: You are surrounded by other resorts (like the Meliá Caribe Beach, which is the neighboring family-friendly version), but inside the complex, it feels totally private.
